Why Servo-Hydraulic? In general standard(non-servo) industrial grade hydraulic actuator solutions are inadequate for the tests to be conducted in the areas of Civil Engineering, Structural Mechanics, and detailed Materials Testing. Servo- hydraulic or servo electromechanical actuators specially designed for this area are needed. The specialty of servo-systems comes from their high-speed closed loop control capability. In this way a high precision Load/Position control (<0.1%) becomes possible. Loading systems without servo-hydraulic capability generally fails to meet the requirements in the test specifications, as well as may generally damage the test specimens due their naturally uncontrolled behavior and sudden, unexpected over loads.
